Today we ventured down Putnam Street to the local pet store, Fish 'N Stuff. The owner, Miss Theresa, gave the student a tour of her store. The students were able to see, touch and hold multiple animals including their store chinchilla, mice, rabbits, gerbils, all types of fish, lizards, and birds. As we continue to have school fundraisers to save up for a class pet, we talked about all the different animals, compared and contrasted their initial costs and the cost for food, and items to create their habitats.
The second half of the morning the students were participating in Occupational Therapy. Each of the two groups made two Halloween Rice Krispy Cakes. These cakes were three separate levels of rice krispy that had added food coloring and icing for a yellow, orange and white layer. Students had to count and separate M&Ms by their colors into small plastic cups, that were then sprinkled on top of the cake. The cakes were slices, wrapped in plastic wrap, and sold at WHS as a small fundraiser to be placed in our class piggy bank "Mr. Money Bags".

After Occupational Therapy and Fish 'N Stuff, the student headed back to the Blue House to grab their lunches, and spend time anywhere on campus with their mentors until the bus arrived to head back to WHS.
