Week Four
WHOO!!!! The mentors are officially here full time. What a quick week for us. We had a birthday celebration for one of our classmates, Luke. The classes's rule is that if it is your birthday you get to choose where we get to eat downtown. The lucky birthday boy was Luke. He decided on Tampicos for his birthday lunch. On our way downtown some of our classmates and teachers were yelled at from a car. To our great surprise it was from a familiar face, Val . She was our substitute speech language pathologist from last year. It was great to run into her and catch up and snap a photo.
The students were also busy working on school work. The students focused on how to to properly fill out a banking ledger. This is an important skill that students need to learn to succeed in their next step of life. As part of the Pioneer Pipeline Program, the students prepare a meal each Thursday for the class. In preparation of Thursday's meal day, the students went shopping at Giant Eagle. The students had a great time helping each other look for the items on our shopping list. The students were a great help looking for items that were gluten free for a classmate that has a gluten allergy. |
