November 10-12 and 17-19
It was a great couple weeks for the Pioneer Pipeline. The kids have been very busy at Marietta College and at Warren High School. This past week the kids had a competition in class as to who can cook the best chili. The judge was Mr. Cunningham who selected a winner. The kids were able to follow directions, clean their stations, and participate in making the meal. Now the kids will be able to make this meal at home on their own! Also this week, the kids were able to enjoy a thanksgiving lunch at the dining hall. They had a thanksgiving lunch with their peer mentors and even an old peer mentor showed up to say hello. Over the past couple weeks peer mentors and students have been doing various jobs around campus. Anna has been working hard at the Herman Fine Arts Center and Education department. Anna has been using her fine motor skills in counting beads. Levi has been withdrawing books from the Legacy Library. Lauren has been opening boxes of groceries and stocking shelves. Chris and Levi had enough free time to go to the Recreation Center and workout while they watched TV. The previous week the students had a class breakfast and McDonald’s and took a trip to Giant Eagle. The end of the semester is going to be here soon. It has been an extremely successful semester. The mentors and students have developed healthy relationships and have experienced so much in a short amount of time. Here are some pictures of our last couple weeks.
